War of Blocks

The user interface for War of Blocks was designed to complement the mechanical and block-based style of in-game art. The game is a block-based objective FPS with the ability to destroy or build on the level during a match, and upgradable player traits based on materials picked up in the level, which required a HUD that displayed a wide array of information in a concise manner in order to keep the player informed while allowing them to focus on the objective. War of Blocks also offers players the ability to create games and join games in-progress, necessitating a lobby system displaying current games and their status. The challenge with the lobby system was to display the important status information for each game, but allow for the scalability of having many concurrent games to choose from.
